“Committed to Community Development Since 1997”
Maliku Development Society Minicoy

Message from Secretary
The Maliku Development Society (MDS) has been functioning as a responsible and committed organization since its establishment in 1997, with the objective of contributing meaningfully to the social, educational, cultural, and developmental needs of the Maliku/Minicoy community. The Society continues to be guided by the vision and principles laid down by its founder, Late Mr. M. Ali Ismail Umeri, whose dedication to community service remains the cornerstone of MDS activities.
The progress achieved by MDS over the years is the result of collective efforts, sound governance, and sustained cooperation among its members, office bearers, educators, volunteers, and well-wishers. The Society has consistently upheld transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness in planning and implementation of its programmes.
MDS firmly believes that long-term and sustainable development can be realized only through education, social responsibility, cultural preservation, and active community participation. In this direction, the Society has undertaken initiatives aimed at strengthening educational institutions, promoting cultural and linguistic heritage, supporting social welfare, and preserving natural and cultural assets.
As Secretary of the Maliku Development Society, I reaffirm the Society’s commitment to strengthening its institutional framework, improving the quality and reach of its programmes, and responding responsibly to the evolving needs of the community. The cooperation and support of all stakeholders, particularly the younger generation, is vital in achieving these objectives.
The Maliku Development Society remains dedicated to its mission of inclusive growth and community empowerment and looks forward to continued cooperation in working towards the overall development and well-being of the Maliku/Minicoy community.
