A Parents’ Awareness Seminar on the topic “Health Consciousness During the Early Learning Years” was successfully conducted on 10th February 2026 at Sedivalu Village under the initiative of Maliku Development Society (MDS).
The seminar was organized with the objective of creating awareness among parents about the importance of health, hygiene, nutrition, emotional care, and healthy habits during the foundational years of Kindergarten education.
The programme was graced by the presence of MDS Chairman Mr. Mohammed Ismail, along with Executive Members Havva Mamou, Daleka Nakabe, and Sathaar. Kindergarten teachers actively participated and extended their full support in coordinating the session.
The awareness class was handled by MDS Secretary Mr. Ibrahim Manikfan Nabu, who served as the Resource Person for the seminar. The session was highly informative and interactive. During his 1 ¾ hour presentation, he explained in detail:
-
The importance of balanced nutrition in early childhood
-
Developing healthy eating habits from LKG and UKG level
-
Personal hygiene practices and disease prevention
-
Limiting screen time and encouraging physical activity
-
Emotional bonding between parents and children
-
The role of parents as the first teachers at home
Several practical and real-life examples were shared to make parents clearly understand how small daily habits influence a child’s physical and mental growth. The session also highlighted how early health consciousness directly impacts academic performance, behavior, and long-term well-being.
Almost all the Kindergarten parents and well-wishers from Sedivalu Village attended the seminar. The majority of participants were mothers, showing strong involvement and commitment towards their children’s early education and health.
The seminar concluded at 3:45 PM with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Kindergarten Head Teacher Nazeea D.D, who expressed gratitude to the Chairman, Executive Members, Resource Person, teachers, and especially the parents and well-wishers of Sedivalu Village for their active participation and cooperation.
The programme was a meaningful step towards strengthening the partnership between school and home in nurturing healthy, confident, and happy children.
Maliku Development Society remains committed to conducting such awareness programmes for the betterment of the community and the holistic development of young learners.
