Since its inception in 1998, the Kindergarten under the Maliku Development Society has been shaped by the sincere efforts of four dedicated teachers—Havva Marudhuru, Afsaree Beegum Mudinkoshige, Aysha Mureedugothi, and Amina Karuge. Among them, Havva served as the Teacher-in-Charge and carried out her responsibilities with exemplary commitment until her retirement. Establishing a Kindergarten on the small island of Maliku (Minicoy Island) was no small task, especially at a time when awareness of early childhood education was still growing. Despite limited resources and challenges, these teachers worked with remarkable enthusiasm to build, nurture, and popularize the institution within the community.
Their dedication went far beyond classroom teaching; they instilled confidence in parents, created a joyful learning environment for children, and laid a strong foundation for early education that continues to guide the Kindergarten even today. The positive influence of their service is still reflected in the smooth functioning and learning culture of the school. Each of them chose retirement by personal decision, leaving behind a legacy of sincerity and devotion. The Maliku Development Society will always remember their invaluable contribution, and the Kindergarten will continue to serve generations to come with enduring gratitude for their pioneering efforts.
