Chairman's Message

The Maliku Development Society (MDS) has, since its inception in 1997, remained steadfast in its commitment to the social, educational, cultural, and developmental advancement of the Maliku/Minicoy community. Established on the visionary ideals of its founder, Late Mr. M. Ali Ismail Umeri, the Society continues to uphold the values of selfless service, unity, and collective responsibility.

MDS has evolved into a trusted community institution through consistent efforts, transparent functioning, and the active participation of its members and well-wishers. Over the years, the Society has undertaken various initiatives aimed at strengthening education, promoting cultural and linguistic heritage, supporting social welfare, and preserving natural and cultural assets, all of which have contributed to sustainable community development.

As Chairman of the Maliku Development Society, I acknowledge with gratitude the dedicated services rendered by past and present office bearers, educators, volunteers, and supporters whose contributions have strengthened the organization. The guidance provided by our predecessors, particularly the leadership of Late Dr. K. K. Domthakuru, has played a significant role in shaping the direction and growth of the Society.

MDS firmly believes that the progress of the community depends on inclusive participation, responsible governance, and continuous adaptation to emerging needs. The Society remains committed to strengthening its institutions, encouraging youth involvement, and fostering a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect.

I call upon all members of the community to extend their continued cooperation and support to MDS in its efforts to work towards a united, educated, and self-reliant Maliku/Minicoy community.
